This service loads drivers for these devices when plugged in and it monitors for events related to these devices. It should be noted that many cameras typically connect to your Windows computer through USB and they normally load as a external USB hard-drive. This means that no fancy drivers are needed. But, if your camera, or a scanner, has advanced feature then it could use this service. This may be used by such things as panel buttons on a scanner that notify Windows that you want to scan into a program. This service can be disabled if you do not have any devices that use it and in fact it will most likely on appear in the services list if it is needed. |
