This means that this service allows any Windows XP Pro machine to serve out web content just like any Internet website. This service is not installed by default, but instead must be installed from Add / Remove Programs under the Internet Information Services (IIS) component. Since IIS is a high risk service to run you would be best advised not to use this feature unless you really need it. But, instead of just disabling this service you really should remove it if you don't need it. |
