Explanation (?): | The error reporting service is used to transfer information to Microsoft about abnormal application terminations. When an error occurs you will be asked if you wish to transfer the data pertaining to the crash to Microsoft. This is generally a good idea as it will allow Microsoft to realize the frequency of crashed with applications and the data you provide may even tell them why it happened. This allows them to fix the problem in a patch. However, this service can be quite annoying and could be considered a security leak on some private networks as the extent of the information transmitted could vary. This service can safely be set to disabled if you do not wish to participate in bug tracking / fixing. |
