Explanation (?): | The fax service provides the ability to receive or send faxes. By default this service does not come installed, but if you have this service listed then you can add it using add / remove components from your control panel. Once installed it adds shortcuts to your Start Menu under Programs/All Programs\Accessories\Communications\Fax. The way to configure the fax abilities is through the Fax console, which alternately can be executed by running "FxsClnt.exe /new" from the start menu's run option. You can safely set this service to disabled or manual if you don't want to use it, but I would recommend removing it instead from the control panel's add / remove components function from add / remove programs. |
