Explanation (?): | The net logon service is a critical component for Windows domains. This service is used by clients in a domain to authenticate users and services with a domain controller, and it handles DNS regristrations used for discoveries by the domain controller locator. Domain controllers also use this service to pass authentication requests and tokens. This service is a required component for a computer to act properly on a domain, but computers not on a domain, like most users, do not need this service. You should leave this service set to manual, and it will be set to automatic if connected to a domain. |
