Explanation (?): | The network DDE service provides dynamic data exchange capabilities to Windows applications running locally or remotely. This service is used to provide a secure coomunications channel between programs. DDE is used by very few programs as it was mainly a NT3 technology, but the clipboard program can use DDE communications between the clipboard service to a remote computer. Configuration of DDE can be done through ddeshare.exe, but without programs to use these features it isn't very useful. I would suggest leaving this service set to manual if you're not using it. Set it to automatic if you're running a server that uses this feature, and you could even disable it if you're paranoid. |
