Explanation (?):

The routing and remote access service allows you to set up dial-up and virtual private network (VPN) features from your Windows computer. This means that you can allow people to either dial-in and use internet or intranet resources, or enter through a VPN over the Internet so that the remote computer can use the Internet as if it was on the network of the VPN server. These are mainly used on corporate networks to bypass security protocols implemented through firewalls, but this service can be used by home users as well. If you use these features I would suggest setting this service to automatic, and if you don't use them then I suggest disabling this service.
